描述Ursodiol dissolves gallstones by solubilizing cholesterol from the stone surface as a gallstone dissolution agent. Doses as low as 3 to 5 mg/kg per day have resulted in gallstone dissolution, the optimal dose is 8 to 10 mg/kg per day. Maintenance low-dose ursodiol therapy (300 mg/d) decreases the recurrence rate of gallstones over 9 years by about 50%. Moreover,ursodiol is physically and chemically stable in SuspendIt for 181 days in the refrigerator and at room temperature.
