DBCO-Cy3 has fast reaction kinetics and good stability, and is productive to use in many standard fluorescent instrumentations. DBCO-Cy3 is a click chemistry reagent, it contains a DBCO group that can undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules containing Azide groups.

DBCO-Cy3 exhibits less background than TAMRA and most other commonly used fluorescent dyes.DBCO-Cy3 can be conjugated to antibodies, peptides, and proteins, it can be excited using the 532 nm or 555 nm laser lineandvisualized with TRITC filter sets.
