8-Epixanthatin is a potential colchicine binding site inhibitor isolated from Xanthium chinese Mill. 8-Epixanthatin can inhibit the activation of STAT3, induce apoptosis, and has anti-tumor activity.
体内研究：
8-Epixanthatin (i.p., 50 mg/kg, 5 days per week for 25 days) 在 DU145 细胞的小鼠异种移植模型中，可以通过 STAT3 失活抑制肿瘤生长，小鼠肿瘤体积减少了40.1%，肿瘤重量减少了40.0%，肿瘤中 p-STAT3 水平显著降低。
体外研究：
8-Epixanthatin(2-20 μM, 12 h) 可以以剂量依赖性方式抑制 DU145 细胞增殖和 DU145 细胞的 p-STAT3 水平，其 IC50 值为 3.2 μM。 8-Epixanthatin可以通过诱导 DU145 癌细胞中 ROS 的产生抑制 STAT3 的激活和细胞增殖。
