GET73 is a γ-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) analog, a naturally occurring neurotransmitter. GET73 has anti-alcohol and anxiolytic properties. GET73 significantly affects glutamate transmission in the hippocampus.

GET73 (5–50?mg/kg; i.g.) exerts an anxiolytic effect in Sprague-Dawley rats exposed to the elevated plus maze (EPM) test.Animal Model:Male SD rats (200-300?g and 300–350?g)
Dosage:5 mg/kg, 10 mg/kg, 25 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg
Administration:Oral gavage
Result:Exerted an anxiolytic effect in rats exposed to the elevated plus maze (EPM) test.

GET73 (1 μM, 10 μM; 1 hour) 1 hour before and during chronic ethanol exposure prevents ethanol-induced a reduction of cell viability, an alteration of cytoskeleton, a decrease in extracellular glutamate levels and an increase of reactive oxygen species production.
