8-Azido-cADPR, with its photoactive azido group, is a potent photoaffinity probe. 8-Azido-cADPR can be used for the identification and characterization of cADPR-binding proteins. 8-Azido-cADPR is a click chemistry reagent, itcontains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. Strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) can also occur with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
